Pointers for Saving Files

EPS, PDF

• Make sure fonts are embedded.
• Document should be flattened (no transparency).
• EPS does not support embedded ICC profiles; make sure to note and identify RIP
• PDF can have ICC embedded.
• PANTONE colors should be specified as Spot and not Process if using the RI's PANTONE calibration.

TIFF

• Document should be flattened (no layers or transparency).
• Compressed files in ZIP or LZW formats accepted.
• Does not support definition of Spot colors (must be CMYK or RGB).
• Can/should have ICC profile embedded.

JPEG

• Should be saved at highest quality setting (test output and look for artifacts).
• Should be flattened and cannot contain Spot colors.
• Can/should have ICC profile embedded.
